Mirei honors our founder’s Japanese heritage, while Maison, meaning “home” in French—reflects the spaces where our most meaningful moments unfold. Together, the name represents our vision of creating beautifully crafted candles that bring personality, emotion, and a sense of ritual into your home.
The Heart Behind Mirei Maison
My mission is to create candles that nurture creativity and human emotion. With a background in forensic science and toxicology, I spent years believing I simply wasn’t a creative person. Candle making became my way of challenging that belief and finding a creative outlet of my own. I wanted to create more than beautiful scents. I wanted each candle to have a distinct personality, inspired by emotions, memories, and experiences people could genuinely see themselves in.
The Journey to Mirei Maison
Six months after earning my master’s degree in Forensic Toxicology, I found myself searching for a creative outlet beyond my work in science.
January 2026
I poured my first batch of candles and discovered a creative process that immediately resonated with me. Drawing from my scientific background, I began researching ingredients, testing formulas, and refining every detail.
February-June 2026
What began as a hobby quickly grew into something more. After sharing my candles with friends and family, I realized their potential and became determined to share them with others.
September 2026
Mirei Maison officially launched with its debut collection: The Signature Collection.
